Kamchatka is the only place on earth where you can access numerous active volcanos adapted for skiing. But the land of fire of Kamchatka which is surrounded by the waters of Pacific ocean and Okhotskoye sea is constantly being attacked by sea storms and is in fact one of the most snowy place on the Planet.
Endless territory
Kamchatka is probably the biggest heliski zone on the planet: ski area is 100km wide and more than 450km long which makes an area about 45.000 square kilometers, equal to the whole Switzerland.

Kamchatka is not just heliski. It's a ski adventure in one of the most amazing places on earth. Unique landscapes, giant slopes, natural spas, richest animal life - you'll be surprised every day.
Kamchatka heliski pioneer
Vertikalny Mir was one who pioneered the place. We come to Kamchatka 17 years ago with our first heliski group. And now we know the area like nobody else. Nothing say about Russia itself, because we are full time Russian company.
International Team
We have an international team of professional mountain guides from different countries and cultures. Each guide has extensive experience in heliskiig around the Globe, but also carrying on his personal “charisma” which comes to the melting pot of our operation.
Best Snow Monitoring
We run up to three helicopters a week and that's why we are able to cover the maximum range of the different sectors of huge Kamchatka ski area and monitor the snow and weather in a most efficient way.
ITINERARY
Day 1
- Arrival to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy (recommended flight from Moscow - Aeroflot SU 825 arrival at 09:50 a.m.)
- Transfer to the base (30 minutes)
- Welcome & lunch
- Safety briefings and administrative formalities
- if the weather permits us to fly we take off within 1 hour after hotel check-in. We will take our lunch-boxes and will proceed with the safety briefing and avalanche training right in the mountains just before we fly up for the first run.
Days 2-8
Day 9
- Breakfast.
- Transfer to the airport
- Flight back home

At the end of your day
After a day full of action we can stop for a short visit into the crater of an active volcano or continue straight to one of the many natural hot springs in the area. Diving into a steaming hot pool surrounded by steep walls of snow seems to be the natural relaxation in the land of many volcanoes.
PACKAGE 1 - FIRE & ICE PACKAGE
- 8 days heliskiing
- 8 hours of helicopter flight time

This tour is the “classic” of heliskiing in Russia with powerful MI-8 helicopters carrying 12 guests in one load. However 3 mountains guides leading the group insure a high level of safety and personal care.
- You will ski in our “classic” area, which covers 15000 sq.km. around the base.
- We will introduce you the “classic” of Kamchatka – from the top of volcano to the Pacific, down to the crater of an active volcano, skiing through the fiords.
- We run up to 3 groups per week. And each group will have a private helicopter for the entire week.
Flight time calculation
In opposition to the most of traditional heliski providers, who based their helicopter calculation on the vertical meters, we prefer to relate to the actual flight time we use.
This method proves to be more adapted to the fact that we have freedom to react on any given condition and to explore the best volcanoes and runs. A good day will offer us 7000 to 10 000 vertical meters and costs around 2,5 hours. The flight time included into the package is the minimum time we will need even in bad circumstances. Given the fact that we meet very good weather and snow conditions, we might be able to use up to 50% more time.
Additional helicopter time
Once you have spent the hours included in the package, it’s up to you if you like to continue. The additional time will be charged at the end of your stay. Additional flight time is 290euro per person per hour (based on a group of 12 persons).
Refunds unused time
8 hours included into the package are guaranteed. You will be refunded 270euros per person for each hour unused due to bad weather conditions or helicopter technical problems.
PACKAGE 2 - WILD EAST DISCOVERY PACKAGE

- During this journey, you will be able to ride exclusively in mountain areas inaccessible by regular heliski groups.
- You can visit Kluchevskaya group, where you admire the highest and most active volcanoes of Kamchatka.
- You will visit the Cape Lopatka - the southernmost point of the peninsula and fly futher across the Pacific to the Kuril Islands, which until last spring, has not visited by any of heliski groups
- You will be able to ride more then 2000 vertical meters on the the slopes of the unique island-volcano Alaid.
- You will find a "nose to nose" with the King of Kamchatka, the brown bear in his Mecca - on the shore of the Kuril Lake.
- You touch the centuries-old history of the Kamchatka people, visiting the camps of indigenous Koryak north - reindeer herders of Kamchatka.
Safety and group
Given the fact that during the trip we will be in the most remote and inaccessible mountain areas, we set a higher standard of safety program.

- we have an extra supply of food on board
- we have an extra tank of fuel with us
Flight time calculation
The flight time included into the package is the minimum time we will need to run the base part of the discovery jorney. Given the fact that we meet very good weather and snow conditions, we might be able to use up to 15 hours.
Additional helicopter time
Once you have spent the hours included in the package, it’s up to you if you like to continue. The additional time will be charged at the end of your stay. Additional flight time is 290euro per person per hour (based on a group of 12 persons).
Refunds unused time
10 hours included into the package are guaranteed. You will be refunded 270 euros per person for each hour unused due to bad weather conditions or helicopter technical problems.
PACKAGE 3 - BIG VOLCANO PACKAGE
Kamchatka Big Volcano - the only week in a season for expert's riding
Our goal is to land on the very top of the biggest volcanos, ski the steepest couloirs and ride the longest runs in small groups of expert skiers only
Once a year, when spring comes to Kamchatka, we have the ideal conditions for descents from top of volcanos and riding the steepest slopes. This journey reserved for the experts. You will have a chance to ride challenging lines, not skiable during the rest of the season.
North and south faces of the Koryakski volcano (3456m), the southern slopes of Zhupanovski volcano (2960m.), the active crater of Avachinsky volcano (2700m), east couloirs of Aag volcano (2310m), Opala volcano (2475m) and Viluchinskiy volcano (2175m.).

Given the fact that most of the runs requires very high technical level both riders and the pilots, we set a higher standard of safety program.

- we have an additional satellite phone Iridium
- we have an expanded set of climbing and resque equipment on board
- we are working on reduced fuel supply (to facilitate flights to the high altitude)
Flight time calculation
The flight time included into the package is the minimum time we will need to run the base part of the discovery jorney. Given the fact that we meet very good weather and snow conditions, we might be able to use up to 15 hours.
Additional helicopter time
Once you have spent the hours included in the package, it’s up to you if you like to continue. The additional time will be charged at the end of your stay. Additional flight time is 350euro per person per hour (based on a group of 10 persons).
Refunds unused time
10 hours included into the package are guaranteed. You will be refunded 330euros per person for each hour unused due to bad weather conditions or helicopter technical problems.
